Week Three - Building Your Store

Overview

In week three we finalize the direction of your store and begin building your online store front.


We teach you how to do this as easily as possible, what order to do this in, everything from properly registering your domain to creating your logo and branding. This week is where we take a hands on approach to really guide you through the entire website building process. This is a concept that can easily get confused without the right guidance. There are a lot of subtleties to making a functioning website ready to build trust and bring in sales - and that is precisely what we do in week 3. By the end of this week you will have a store you are proud of and excited to continue growing. 

1. Making the decision

In this module we take decisive action and move forward with the decisions we've made in week 2. We learn to move forward quickly and without doubt. We introduce different eCommerce website builders and explain why Shopify is by far the best option especially for beginner to intermediate entrepreneurs. We look into different types of stores we can build in eCommerce and logic which one would best suit your vision. At the end we begin to finalize your brand identity by choosing a store name and looking at the best practices for a viable domain name (website name).

2. Making it all real

In this module we make everything real and construct a solid base to your business. We finalize your brand identity by registering a domain using the best practices in week 2. This organization will be essential moving forward. We begin creating your logo using the best, free graphic design tool - Canva. We give you a quick run down on how to create a professional level logo even if you have no design background.

3. Becoming a Shopify goddesss

In this module the rubber really hits the road. It's a necessarily lengthy module that thoroughly goes through every aspect of Shopify so that by the end you have a clear understanding of how it works and you have a viable store ready to bring in sales. We look at proper Shopify setup, which includes tweaking all settings from shipping, to connecting your domain. We deep dive into the Shopify theme which drives all aesthetics and consumer experience on your store. We conclude the module by creating all "must have" pages for your business including return policy, terms of service, about us and so forth.

4. Editing your products, importing 

In this module we complete the framework of your store by filling it with products. We create organization between your products through collections. We introduce an automation software called oberlo that helps with importing products to your store with proper supplier SKU and fulfilling the orders. You will see that with oberlo you can both import products and fulfill customer orders with a single click. We look further into oberlo settings to automate other aspects such as automatically sending tracking information to customers upon successful purchase. By the end of this module the structure of your online store is complete all functions are working properly.

5. Turning visitors into customers

In this module we begin adding detail to your online store and introduce the concept of conversion rate optimization. Our goal once our store is complete is to optimize conversion rate - that is to maximize the amount of purchases we get per visitor. We look into what key factors influence conversion rate and how the eCommerce funnel works. We focus on one of the most important aspects of conversion rate optimization - product copy - that is creating a compelling story or using language to position the product as more valuable than the price. We conclude this module by identifying key Shopify apps which we have found to almost automatically bump up conversion rate and consequently bottom line profits.

Week Four - Taking Advantage of Data

Overview

In week four we set up out social channels to collect customer data from the start.

We introduce another powerful aspect of online sales which is the ability to organize and group customers based on actions taken and remarket to them strategically based on these actions. By collecting data as early as possible we give the systems time to learn about your ideal customers, grow and begin to develop a thorough understanding of your customer. We will leverage this data in week 6 through social media advertising. 

1. The importance of customer data

In this module we introduce the Facebook business manager which is the hub for data collection and ad creation for Facebook and Instagram. We also introduce google analytics which serves a similar data collection role for Google and Youtube. We begin creating basic audiences on each platform for people who have visited your website, interacted with products, added to cart and purchased. All of this data is stored automatically once you've created your audiences and we will leverage this information through powerful remarketing and advertising in week 6.

2. Facebook page setup

In this module we create your Facebook page using the business manager. We look into how to properly fill out the information on your Facebook page, how to post on it to maximize interaction and other best practices. .

Week Five - Connective eCommerce

Overview

In week five we begin using the Connective eCommerce strategy to bring in sales.  


We pull back the curtain on the best strategies to drive sales without paying a single cent on advertising. Through strategic partnerships and automation systems we begin driving traffic to your store without coming out of pocket. We trade time & sweat equity for traffic instead of paying money for traffic. This is necessary to prove your store. 


This week is where the magic happens and you will get your first sale. You'll quickly realize that because you didn't pay any money for the sale you can continue pouring more effort, and time into your business. This will scale from 1 sale to 5 to 10 to 50 as you continue improving your store - there is no risk, just effort. At this point your business will begin cash flowing which will not only give you a supplemental income but open doors for safe reinvestment into your business through advertisements. This is an exciting week and will be completely life changing with enough effort. 

1. Introduction to Connective eCommerce

In this module we look at the Connective eCommerce strategy which is a host of tactics to drive traffic to your store without paying for advertisements. We contrast the risky, traditional methods for driving traffic with the safer and more consistent Connective eCommerce strategy. We quickly summarize what's been covered in the course so far and focus on our primary goal moving forward which is proving your store.
